About Snail Race

The world's most deliberately paced racing circuit. Sanctioned since 2019.

Our Mission

Snail Race exists to answer a question nobody asked: what happens if you take the drama of competitive racing and slow it down by a factor of several thousand? The Bureau of Competitive Mollusk Racing was founded to find out, and to make sure nobody cheats. Mostly.

The Technology

Each racer is fitted with a certified Mucus Velocity Sensor (patent pending, patent review also pending) that measures forward progress to within a tenth of a percent. This data feeds directly into our live leaderboard, which updates approximately as often as anything interesting happens.

Our proprietary Sabotage Auditing System logs every act of interference between racers in real time. It has never once found a correlation between sabotage and race outcome, and it keeps looking anyway.

Why Does This Exist

Every other sport got faster. We felt someone needed to hold the line.

There is something deeply honest about a competition where the fastest possible outcome is still, by any reasonable standard, extremely slow.

Awards & Recognition

Snail Race holds the unofficial world record for Slowest Verified Photo Finish (11 minutes, 42 seconds, decided by 0.02%) and has never once been mentioned in a sports broadcast, which we consider a point of pride.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does sabotaging the other snails actually help me win?
The Bureau's official position is "no, but keep doing it."

Are Gerald, Mavis, and Reginald real snails?
They are certified competitors. Further questions should be directed to Legal.

Why snails?
Someone suggested tortoises. We felt that was too fast.
